Carter opened his mouth to say something, but he found himself being held down on the couch instead. A smile crept across his mouth. “I still kinda like you, too. Like want-like you. Really.”
“Glad we have an understanding, then.” She stuck her tongue out before resting her head on his chest. “Screw watching movies, I’d rather take a nap with you. It sound better than attending class. ” Tommy grinned, snuggling across his body.
He wondered if this was okay during a “cool-off”, but didn’t bother prostesting against it. “Works for me,” he said, easing into the couch and putting an arm around her.
Tommy looked at him briefly before giving him a hug, tackling him on the couch in the process. The girl locked eyes with him for a moment. “I’m laughing because after all this time, I still… I still…” She blushed, averting her gaze timidly to the screen. “I still kinda like you, Carter… Like want-like you. Really.”
Carter opened his mouth to say something, but he found himself being held down on the couch instead. A smile crept across his mouth. “I still kinda like you, too. Like want-like you. Really.”
“…It’s just… I don’t know. Awkward? I just didn’t think you’d want to see my face after what happened… Maybe I’m Just frustrated because of the things you said beforehand and as well as mine, too.” Tommy threw her head on the couch and chuckled. “…Sorry about it, though. And everything else. I’m sorry, Carter.”
“Well, I actually thought you’d never want to see my face after what happened,” Carter said truthfully, still avoiding her stare. “No, no, no! You’re not supposed to be sorry, I am!! It’s—Why are you laughing?”
“…It’s not that I don’t want to be here.” She began, biting her lip as she glanced at him and frowned. “By the tone of your voice…it still seems like you are.” She had to admit, she felt a little nervous when he exclaimed that he wasn’t angry about it anymore.
“Then what is it?” Carter’s expression softened. It was true though, he wasn’t mad about it. Disappointed, maybe, but never mad. “I’m not. I swear.”
“Oh, well, I guess I’ll pass. I’m pretty sure you had your fair share of embarrassing moments caught on tape as well…” She muttered, not exactly in the mood to feel bad for people doing things without knowing they were being watched.
She returned the facial expression and looked away from him, instead hugging her knees. “I dunno… You kind of sound like you don’t want to, seeing as I think you’re still angry about the other night…”
“You’re not wrong,” he muttered, smile fading. He’d made a point to get to those files before anyone else, but he suspected Jared had his stash as well.
“Well, you don’t seem that enthusiastic about being here either.” He avoided her eyes and instead, stared at the television, which was still showing the empty dorm. ”And I’m not angry about the other night!”
“Hmm, if you say so, then I guess I’ll have to believe that. Thank god I don’t dorm here.” She muttered—she didn’t like being watched. Tommy noticed the look on his face and her hand grabbed onto his. “Ahh, why are you frowning? I don’t want to do something boring with my boyfriend, you know… Or do you not want me to be here at all?” She gave him a “D:” face and let go of his hand.
“If this is one of those ‘see to believe’ moments, I have some of those incidents saved somewhere…” he trailed off with a devilish look on his face.
“Oh, that’s what you meant…” He kept his gaze on his hand, which was then being held by Tommy, and then frowned again when she let go. “Why do you keep thinking I don’t want to spend time with you?” His faced mimicked her expression.
“Suuuuuuuuure,” She nodded, shaking her head as she went on to look at the screen. “Well, you weren’t lying about the everywhere part of having cameras.” Tommy laughed again. “Haha, no, I wouldn’t want to watch my class. I’d rather be in the classroom than be watching it here with you.”
Carter let himself fall back on the couch. “Well, strictly speaking, they aren’t everywhere everywhere, since it would be an invasion of privacy to put cameras in other people’s dorms…” He frowned at his hands. What was that supposed to mean, that she’d rather be in the classroom than here with him? “Oh…” was all he could choke out.
“Blackmail? Blackmail how?” She blinked, glancing at him as she settled down on the couch. She couldn’t imagine Carter blackmailing someone, really. He did say he wasn’t too manipulative…but this kinda proves her point. “Yep, it’s really big. I like it!” She laughed. The whole room was probably as big as her own room.
“Oh, you know, when Jared or Han do something stupid whilst forgetting there are security cameras all over the dorm and in other places, and they happen to have also done something wrong to me or have something I want, I know what to do,” he laughed, clapping the lights on and turning the TV on. It was on default, showing the brothers’ empty dorm. “So are we watching your class or what?”
